Stan Jones, 78, Chicago Bears Hall of Famer

Stan Jones, a Hall of Fame lineman who starred on offense and defense for the Chicago Bears and was one of the first N.F.L. players to train by lifting weights, died Friday in Broomfield, Colo. He was 78. Jones's death was announced by his son Kevin, who said he had complications of heart disease and skin cancer. Jones died at the home of his daughter, Sherrill Jones.
